Raptor -
Compact, fully-featured DSLAM extends your multi-service broadband network
The Raptor 50/100 provides exceptional deployment flexibility. Models with 8, 16, 24, or 48 ports are available, with optional integrated POTS splitters. An optional watertight outside plant (OSP) enclosure enables pole-mount, pedestal, or underground deployment for even greater range and flexibility. Line-Powered models receive power over the uplink or separate twisted pair line, extending full ADSL service up to 38 kft / 11.6 km from the central office.
The Raptor 50/100 line includes a range of products to provide complete deployment flexibility. Each member of the product line shares the same next-generation DSLAM feature capabilities: - Traditional ATM DSLAM functionality - Advanced IP features, including IP termination, bridging, and VLAN support - Optional integrated POTS splitters - Complete remote management, test, and monitoring - Power options include -48 VDC, 110-240 VAC, or line-powered.
Raptor 50
The Raptor 50 offers the full capabilities of a next-generation DSLAM in an ultra-compact format. Offering up to 8 lines of ADSL service, the Raptor 50 provides exceptional flexibility for carriers looking to add low-density DSL service.
Raptor 100
The Raptor 100 delivers up to 16, 24, or 48 lines of ADSL service in a 1U format, supporting both central office and remote terminal outside plant deployments. The 16-line version of the Raptor 100 uses 4 SHDSL uplink lines. The 24-line version uses 4 T1/E1 uplink lines. The 48-line version uses 2 Gigabit Ethernet uplink lines (RPR capable). Available with option integrated splitters, the Raptor 100 provides mid-level density support for extending your DSL network.
Raptor 100 OSP
The Raptor 100 OSP (outside plant) integrates the function of the Raptor 100 into a tough, compact, and watertight enclosure. The Raptor 100 OSP is readily mounted to the side of existing cabinets, pole-mounted, or even buried underground.
Raptor 50 / 100 Line Power Shelf
Power for the line-powered Raptor 50/100 is provided from a Line Power Shelf located at the central office or remote terminal. Two models of the Raptor Line Power Shelf are available, delivering +/- 130VDC or +/- 190VDC for extended reach. The line power can be run over the same twisted pair as the SHDSL payload or over separate twisted pair.
Raptor 50/100 Aggregation using MALC/Raptor 300/700
Zhone's MALC loop carrier or Raptor 300/700 DSLAM provide ideal aggregation and termination support for a network of remote Raptor 50/100s. Voltage protected SHDSL cards are available for use with the line-powered models of the Raptor 50/100. The MALC, as a full-featured Packet Loop Carrier, can also terminate any POTS circuits associated with the Raptor 50/100 remotes.
End-to-End Access Management
The easy-to-use Zhone Management System (ZMS) provides OSMINE-certified management and provisioning across the access network, from CPE to the Central Office. The Raptor 50/100 is fully remote managed, allowing carriers to reduce service turn-up intervals, reduce truck rolls, and ultimately, improve customer service.
